Hi, I’m I.T Systems and Support Technician from Sheffield, England. I have been lucky enough to have worked in many different sectors of I.T including small Photographic labs to Government sector and European Medical industry, more recently moving into the private health sector.
I.T has always been a passion of mine and from a very early age knew I wanted to work in the industry, I.T is ever changing and always evolving so being able to play and work is never dull and faces a lot of challenges.
My Story
Some of my earliest memories growing up involved the passion I have today, I’m a keen motor sport and car fan and growing up in the 80’s I believe we had some of the best cars around, XR2, XR3, Audi Quattro, VW Golfs and the Triumph’s from the 70’s were still knocking around.
Photography another one of my loves has always been part of my life, since I can remember I always had access to a camera, be it may dad’s SLR to my first 35mm Compact, I love taking pictures, see-ing objects no one else notices or just showing how artistic you can be and the praise you get fuels me to take more.
But how I got into computers wasn’t by accident either or by suggestion of career adviser, again with the other things I have mentioned I can always remember having a computer in the house hold, infact I could understand scripting on a Commodore Plus/4 before I was reading books at school and as I grew up the computer evolved. My next computer would be the Commodore Amiga 500 Batman Pack which I later expanded with 1MB Ram and also an external floppy drive, after a long time with the Amiga I finally moved onto my first PC. A 286 IBM with an early version of DOS, then onto 386 DX 66Mhz which I broke and had to be repaired, then a 486 again which I broke and had to be repaired.
At this point my dad said I needed to learn how to fix it myself cause it was costing him too much, taking into account PC’s back then would have been in the thousands to buy. Lucky for me my dad worked at British Telecom and a very kind person there taught me what I know today, later I would help repair other telecoms engineers PC which set me up and gave me the skills I have today.
